AKI KURASAKI
I’m a half Spanish-Japanese eighties born kid, a visual enthusiastic and aesthetic geek.
Being a culture mix myself has had a big influence in my obsession in human’s need to communicate through creation as a way of expression and self consciousness.
Since my childish years when I used to write scripts for delusional TV pilots, to my adult years interested in videoart, I’ve been persuading art in all its different forms.
After my years at Granada Institute of Art, I moved to Málaga to study Media Communications, a passport to dive into all the fields I love: film, video, photography, communication, design, etc.
Still hungry, I enrolled in San Telmo Art School to study Fashion and then Madrid to study with ELLE Magazine where I learn to link it with media and marketing and apply it to the changing industry.
In a self discovery adventure, I moved to Japan where I lived several years and worked in Tokyo's boiling creative scene as a videographer and producer. A beloved city where, amazed and inspired by other creative beasts, GATA MAGAZINE was born. A project where I create, write and curate.
I consider myself a multitasker, born out of an restless mind, an unstoppable curiosity and a hunger for all kind of new knowledge and self improvement. I enjoy developing different rolls, from art direction to digital content creation, from video editing to production.
Through everything I’m interesting in hard work, in seek and create things that make people think and feel, that provoke an input to challenge them to think differently. To generate values that leave the surface and speak our minds.
